Trauma Essentials - March 2027

Trauma turns up in every clinical setting, usually without a label on it. Trauma Essentials (Level 1) is four days in the Margaret River Wine Region building an accurate, working understanding of trauma and its neurobiology, for health professionals who meet it constantly but were never formally taught it. No prior trauma training assumed. The point is confident, ethical decisions inside your scope: knowing when to educate, contain, treat or refer. Expert clinical teaching, expert hospitality.

The Essentials

• Dates: 16-19 March 2027 (Tuesday to Friday)

• Where: Eight Willows Retreat, Margaret River Wine Region, Western Australia

• Format: Four-day residential Educational Escape. Small group, no prior trauma training assumed.

• CPD: 20 hours

• For: Doctors, psychologists, nurses and allied health working with people affected by trauma

• Facilitator: Dr Alice Morgan, Clinical Psychologist, MPH. Full bio on the About page.

• Included: Chalet accommodation at Eight Willows, all curated meals and wine experiences, transport within the region and airport transfers, planned activities, and the full teaching program. Venue gratuity (5%) included.

• Not included: flights, travel insurance.

A note on level

This is a Level 1 course. It is not designed to qualify you as a trauma therapist. It builds accurate recognition, safe and ethical responses (assessment and support) within scope, and clear referral. If you already work confidently with trauma and want treatment-level skills, Level 2 and 3 run later in 2027.

Booking

Reserve your place now with a $250 deposit (non-refundable); all Escape fees are + GST.

We then invoice the balance separately in instalments:

• Training and activities fee is paid to Starling Health Collective - due January 2027

• Accommodation is paid directly to Eight Willows - due February 2027.
